This work in progress, Hosanna in the Highest, number 85 in the series captures a moment of joyful anticipation and profound significance—the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. This vibrant painting invites the viewer to step into the scene itself: Jesus, with his calm yet focused presence, rides a humble donkey through the streets, surrounded by a crowd whose expressions are alive with celebration and reverence
What I wanted to convey through this work was the unfiltered human joy and sacred exaltation embodied in this biblical moment. The crowd’s energy, balanced with Jesus’ serene gaze, speaks of both celebration and solemn purpose—a dynamic often found where hope and faith meet. The painting encourages reflection on themes of welcome, honor, and the anticipation of something greater unfolding.
Ultimately, this work is an invitation to remember moments when collective hope is expressed openly, with a sense of care that embraces both celebration and reverence. Like gently carrying a fragile lamb, the scene embodies a tender strength—a reminder that true power often comes quietly, in the midst of shared joy and humble recognition. Hosanna in the Highest stands as a visual hymn of praise, an offering that both uplifts and invites contemplation.
